Bali 2023
22 courageous yogis traveled across the world to come together in the spirit of mindful adventure. After 3 years of shifting and planning, followed by 19 hours of flying, we finally arrived in Bali, Indonesia! And WOW…it was worth the wait! The root of this retreat was to "Come Alive in Bali" - to reconnect with fun, play, curiosity, and happiness, on and off of the mat. Our twice-daily yoga practices were focused on finding peace & elevating joy in the mind & body, as we wanted everyone to feel their best while exploring the country. As expected, the real magic came simply from the openness and unique energies of each retreater. What an exceptional group!!
Our retreat location, Soulshine Bali, supported our intention to the fullest. Nestled into the jungle of Ubud, a town iconic for it’s deep yogic roots and ancient tropical forests. We were surrounded by lush palm trees and colorful flora in every direction we looked! The sounds of monks chanting at sunrise from a temple nearby, mixed with the joyful music echoing through every corner of the resort was a perfect fusion of foreign culture and familiarity. Soulshine offered delicious healthy food, a dreamy open-air yoga shala, welcoming local staff, music & dancing (including karaoke nights with owner and musician, Michael Franti and his wife, Sara!!!), a luxury spa, & turquoise blue infinity pools complete with an adult SLIDE! Good vibes were flowing from the moment we stepped barefoot at Soulshine Bali.
Between our yoga practices, we had plenty of time to roam and find adventure! We began the week with a group hike down to a Sacred Waterfall Temple where we wrapped up in traditional Balinese robes and immersed ourselves into the crisp, raging waters. Such a powerful and refreshing experience! We also took a bicycle tour that led us downhill on mainly dirt pathways that bobbed and weaved between quiet jungle villages and expansive rice terraces. This experience offered us a unique opportunity to see the countryside and get a glimpse into the daily life of the Balinese culture. It was a beautiful, eye-opening and transformative day!
